 📸 How to Email Photos and Articles to Our Club Blog

The New, SCCL Photo Club blog.
You can send photos, photography tips, YouTube links, website links, or short articles.
This blog is separate from monthly themes and is viewable by anyone, but only club members can submit posts.

✉️ Step‑by‑Step: Send Your Submission

📧 Create a new email (Gmail or any email app)

➡️ To:
SCCLPhotoClub@gmail.com

📝Email Subject line:
Use a clear, descriptive title
Example:

“March Photo Walk — Downtown Fort Mill — Great Photo I Took”

🖼️ Email body :

• Add 1–2 sentence captions for each photo
• Include data like: location, date, exposure info, and any fun details
• If sending multiple photos, number the captions (Photo 1, Photo 2, etc.)

👤 Credits:
Your name as you want it displayed in the blog post

📎 Photos:

• Attach up to 5 JPG images (more for special events), OR
• Share via ☁️ Google Drive if there are too many files or they are too large (Attach link)

✅ Send the email
The blog team will review, format, and post it to the blog.

🔐 Permissions & Guidelines

✅ Only send photos you took; we don’t want any copyright issues.
✅ Only include people who have agreed to be shared publicly
✅ You retain copyright to your work
✅ By submitting, you give permission for SCCL Photo Club to post it
⚠️ This is a public blog — anyone may view and comment

💡 Tips & Troubleshooting

📦 Email attachment size limit:
Gmail allows up to 25 MB total, but that can vary.
If your email bounces or you get a “Too big error”:

• Send fewer photos or resize photos, making them smaller in size.
• Or send multiple emails labeled “1 of 2”, “2 of 2”

📐 Recommended image size for blog:

• Width: 800–1200 px
• Height: proportional (don’t stretch), any aspect ratio.
• JPEG quality: 70–80%
• The blog system will resize in any case.

🖥️ Free resize tools:

• Windows: IrfanView or Paint.NET
• Mac: Preview (already installed)

☁️ Google Drive sharing:

• Set access to “Anyone with the link can edit.”
• Editor access is required so photos can be downloaded

⏱️ Timing matters:
For event recaps, please submit within a few days so posts stay timely.
